I have been testing Syncback backup program and it works really good, but there is a cost for the upgraded version which allows differential backups.

Can anyone recommended a similar backup program thats free ware with full and differential backup features.

This is for computers with windows xp pro sp2.

What would that give you that the standard XP backup wouldn't?

I like the backup status notification that is emailed after each backup. The GUI is more user friendly. There is an option of non compressed vs compressed backups. Background backups at a specified time interval. Program runs without window appearing and shortcut icon hides in the task tray. Differential backups are available.

Standard backups can do differential and run as a scheduled task using the command line.

But e-mail notification is handy. Can't remember where XP backup stores its log but you could always use a script to run the backup then e-mail you the log, there are many tiny SMTP utilities out there.
