If you still have an Older Aloha system, your time is running out to upgrade. NCR recently sent an email to all its customers they knew of
To All Restaurants using NCR Aloha POS,
We wanted to ensure you were aware of an issue that was identified by the developer of your Aloha POS software:
** Older versions of Aloha POS will stop functioning January 1, 2021 **
This is due to a function in the software that checked for an invalid Date of Business (DOB) and used 2020 as the boundary. The version of the Aloha software that your POS system is running needs to be validated and patched if possible.
If your version is not supported your system will need to be upgraded to a newer version so that this issue will not affect your business.
Versions unaffected are:
• Table Service in Aloha POS versions 6.7.56+, 12.3.33+, 14.1.4+, 14.2.1+, and 15.1.0+.
• Quick Service in Aloha POS versions 12.3.65+, 14.1.44+, 14.2.46+, and 15.1.29+.
We, strongly, highly recommend that you address this issue ASAP by contacting your Aloha POS Support provider who can provide answers based on your software version; a new system may be required.
If you do not have an Aloha Support Provider we recommend:
But there are many Aloha system out there, that are not owned by original purchasers. Ebay, Craigslist and Auctions have made it even harder for NCR to find those people.
Your options are limited, based on your current hardware, you may have to replace the entire system. Older hardware does not offer enough storage or memory to run the newer versions.
If you want some ideas of what can be done, find me from the links below.
