I have a user who wants to encrypt some files on his laptop. He has Windows 98. Anyone know some good software?

TIA

One of the best in the world is PGP. It has a convenient user interface and it is free for non commercial use.

Ericksot -

You can get PGP at They're currently at 7.0.3 (plus a hotfix). I'm at 6.5.8 because that's the last version for which sourcecode is available. Network Associates has reversed their longstanding policy in v7.0.3 of making the sourcecode available for public inspection, and I don't trust them without it. Partly because of this, the PGP founder Phil Zimmermann has left NAI.

Bestcrypt, creates a seperate container file. This seperate file acts like a harddrive letter. Easy to use.
