Has anyone successfully encrypted & password protected data through Networker?

I have had a look through the admin guide, and while the procedure seems pretty basic, there's no sign that the data is encrypted and upon restore it does not prompt me for a password

Hello,

I've tried this solution. It works.

Have you put an 'AES' directive along with your client ?

How did you recover data (GUI, command line...) ? Password is asked when not provided (passphrase empty...)

This is how I've configured it denis:

The client has a directive applied to it (see directive below):

"D:\Test"
pw1: *.*
password "-o{koo{o"

I then run a backup group with this client in it.

Then on GUI restore I am not asked for a password.

How did you set yours up?

Sorry... I thought it was the encryption directive which came with 7.3.2...

Have you enabled the password protection in the Networker User program on your window client ?

For encryption, you will have to use either pw2 (for windows and netware) or aes directive (for unix and windows).

Which server version do you currently use ?

Yeah I have applied this now - I thought I could set the password for just specific backups, not all backups through the Networker user GUI.

Also, how can I tell if my encryption directive actually encrypts the data?

Sorry - I thought I could set a password for scheduled backups.
