Is there a way to use networker encryption for the bootstarp for Networker 7.4

As far as i understand if we recover boostrap and all data is unencrypted

Good question. I do not think so.
- You may of course specify such directive and a passphrase.
- However, mmrecov will not ask for the passphrase it it does not exist any longer.
- Consequently i think that AES is suppressed for bootstrap backups.

Looks like you are right 605. To bad the pass phrase is showed and stored in clear text. So you can just restore the res directory from the bootstrap and all of a sudden you have the pass phrase used for all AES backups.

So obviously, you have to be more careful with bootstrap backups than ever and they should really not be on the same tape as AES encrypted backups.

Might be worth to test to see if it actually behave that way. I just did a quick test with AES directive and then run a mmrecov.
