Encryption method vs performance

Hi there,

As per my understanding, the higher the encryption security, the lower the performance.

So for PIX VPN, is the default des-md5 encryption a good choice? Or nowdays should at least use 3des/aes for protection?

Well, AES is actually faster than 3DES on the pix, and the specs are on somewhere. DEs is not recommended today.
