Hi,
scenario: We are looking at using Narrowcastor as a medium for sending out reports to some suppliers (externally). The problem is that the business have stated that the data is confidential. We can not just switch on TLS @ exchange as most suppliers we have do not support this - so could not access the email either.

We have looked at using the Excel templates etc but all of this is rendered useless as a wouldbe hacker could see it all in Notepad! Macros only run on opening not on the fly (while creating).

What would be nice would be to be able to put the report in a password protected zip attachment.

Anyone any ideas?

Wolf.

7.2.2 has zip file format with password option. The main issue is that the password i think is manually entered per service. But at least it's a start.

I guess you can specify one service per supplier and change the password monthly for them.

Thanks nlim,
that sounds great - we are currently testing 7.2.2 with a view to move production over in a month or so, so looks a good bet.

I did not know that 7.2.2 had a Zip option! :) If it does, then it would be trivial to build a wrapper around the document formatter and get the password from a control document or somewhere else (i.e. individually set per user).

2 cents,
Flb.
