I would like to encrypt foxpro data using the api functions.Vfp 7.0 has cryptapi class to do this. I was wondering whether it will be possible to do crystal reports if my data is encrypted.

Thanks in advance.

You would need to create a User Function Library (UFL) to provide Crystal with a decrypt function for your data.

Thanks Ido. That was my greatest fear. Is there anyone who has already written such UFLS that I can borrow?

See list of UFLs under "Other Utilities" at:

I'm not aware of a UFL that does what you are asking, but if you contact the developers of these UFL's I assume they can add such a function or create a custom UFL for you.

There are 1 or 2 issues that require a deeper discussion because, depending on how this is implemented, having access to the rpt file or to the dll would mean a security vulnerability.
