Hello Friends,
I have this problem. We are using a ODBC Text Driver(I don't know which one but mostly it is a Microsoft Text Driver) in order to read a CSV or TSV file and import the data in that file into our application database. The problem is that we need to internationalize our application and this means that the text file given to us may use any sort of character encoding (ASCII, UTF-8, SHIFT-JIS). If we do use a ODBC driver to read the text file then how does it know what encoding is being used in the text file. Is there any ODBC Specification that says that the encoding used in reading the text file should be determined with a particular procedure. Please help.
Thanks,
Salil
