I've been wrestling with getting smtp authentication working with sendmail (8.12) running on my redhat 8.0 box. I tried to install cyrus-sasl but couldn't get it working. I can't seem to find any comprehensive documentation or steps to enable smtp auth anywhere! Today, out of frustration, I completely uninstalled cyrus and sendmail and reinstalled the sendmail packages. I noticed that redhat 8 installs cyrus-sasl automatically. But they nor anyone else have documentation on how to enable it. Could anyone point me in the right direction>
