Going to be implementing ACD resiliency between 2 controllers in a cluster of 15 3300's. Never used SDS before and would like to find out if I can implement SDS on only those 2 controllers to share certain forms as required by ACD resiliency, or does SDS need to be enabled across the entire cluster ? Also is there anything I should be aware/careful of when enabling SDS ? Any information would be much appreciated.

For release 9 and below, you can choose what systems sync (Just 2, or all or anywhere in between). The forms that sync are configurable but the configured forms will sync to all enabled systems

MCD 4 (Rel 10) has much more flexible settings and can be selective in many regards.

The controllers are currently on release 9_ur3. So in my case, I would need to enable SDS on the two controllers which I want to share forms and turn off SDS for the rest of the network. Is that correct ?

Many people have sed not to upgrade to MCD4 just yet and that it would be better until a newer maintenance release comes out. Any truth in this ?

Having SDS enabled and having systems sync'd is 2 things.

SDS does not need to be disabled on the other systems unless you want it idiot proof.

With care, you should be able to sync all the systems . That would be what I would try for.
