Need some help enabling SCCP on a 4.1 Call Manager. I am currently on the steps of configuring my CTL Client, it says I need to obtain two security tokens, where would I know where those are stored at or how would I get those?
Yep, I am trying to do encrypted voice. For some reason on mine it appeared to be turned off, and now it is telling me in my CTL Client that I need two security tokens to enable it.
You need to purchase the two security tokens through cisco to enable ancryption. i do not have the part number handy but your cisco reseller should be able to get that for you.
Thanks, that confirms what I was thinking. Do you have a ballpark figure for what they would cost? I mean are we talking hundreds of dollars or are we talking thousands of dollars? We don't currently have a Cisco Reseller, as the Reseller we bought the CM from was 5 years ago and they have since gone out of business. I have contacted Cisco to have a Reseller contact me though for information. Thank you again!
the part number is KEY-CCM-ADMIN-K9 and list price is $300.
You will need 2 minimum and they are USB devices.
I doubt you work for the DoD otherwise you wouldn't be posting this question so are you just testing?
Thanks for the information, now I will know if someone is trying to rake us over the coals. Well I don't work for the DoD per say, but we do install systems into the DoD enclave. We have to pass the JITC certification, so we are testing with SCCP. We were/are a Nortel partner but with them going out of business, we are looking to branch out. So, currently we have an CS1000, SL100, 2 Avaya's, a 5E and now a Cisco all in the test lab!!! Hard for me to keep everything straight!
I see. A couple of things that might help you in your endeavor.
the latest call manager version that is DoD certified is 4.3 so you might want to upgrade to that version. Quite a few differences including the OS it is running on.
To be able to install the product you will need to be certified. Otherwise CISCO will not allow you to install it, especially in a DoD environment.
You might already be aware of all this but if you are not here you go. Also it can taka some time to get through all the CISCO tunnels to become an authorized VAR.
Yeah, we are currently certified, as we tie into the Cisco, but it is all unsecured to this point and we are just starting to play with SCCP. I know we have pasted the testing previously, as I was the one who did it! I want to get this 4.1 running with SCCP, it sucks being on Server 2000, but we don't want to sink a lot of money into it until we know for sure exactly what we need. It will be nice to go to 4.3 eventually to get on the MCS, but since we do commercial work also we will want to go ahead and go to 5.0 to start testing with SIP. Previously all our SIP testing has been with Nortel and Avaya.
Thanks for all your help, I appreciate it! Let me know if I can ever assist with anything.
