enabling multi threads in tcl/tk

i found that to enable multi threads in tcl/tk we need to compile the tcl/tk with option --enable-threads and --enable-shared. after that i installed tix, blt ok. but at tclsh prompt if i give "package require tcl" then it is showing the version and if i give "package require tk" then it says package not found. but surely i installed the package successfully. can any body help me out in this.
