Enabling LACP on 5510

I'm trying to enable LACP on a Baystack 5510. According to Nortel's documentation the syntax to do so from the Command Line is:

lacp aggregation [port <portList>] enable

When I trya nd run the command I get the error that the syntax is incorrect. Specifically, the error I get is:

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

The caret character appears under the "a" in lacp, like this:

lacp aggregation [port <portList>] enable
^

This command is directly from the document:

"Configuring VLANs, Spanning Tree, and Multilink Trunking for Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 5500 Series, Software Release 4.2"

The switch does in fact have SR 4.2 for the switch.

Any idea why the command will not work?

Also, this happens with any command I try that begins, according to Nortel's documentation, with lacp.

Thanks in advance for any help.

When you are in config mode from the CLI, the only LACP parameter that you can set is "lacp system-priority <0-65535>"

Wouldn't be the first time that their documentation is wrong.
