Hi-
I have an Asus A7V333 mobo with an on board Promise Fasttrack Lite RAID. The RAID array is set up fine - and works with no problems. My question is:- How does DMA work with something like this. I can't find any settings in device manager or the BIOS which says wether it is setup or not. The array is not reported as an ATA device by AIDA32 - but is listed under ASPI, with the CDR's. If anyone can explain the technical issues here I would be greatful!

What version of Windows?

For Win2000 the DMA setting is found in the Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers > Primary IDE Channel > Advanced Settings.

Windows XP -
I know where it normally is, but in this case clicking on the properties of the Promise controller in Device Manager does not bring up the same screen as for instance the Primary IDE channel controller, which has an Advanced Settings Tab - the Promise Raid controller doesn't have the Advanced Tab.
