I am trying to get sound through a Wyse 1200LE Thinclient. Sound does work on fat clients (I.E. PCs) but not for the Wyse guys.

Question: Does the server not having a sound card in it have anything to do with this??? I just don't have any other ideas... The servers are Supermicros.

Metaframe XP on W2K, FR3a, Wyse have the latest firmware (4.3.092).

THANKS yall!

No, has nothing to do with the server.
If the regular clients have sound from within their TS session, then the problem is likely on the thin clients.

If the regular clients have sound, but not when they are in a TS session, then you should check your settings in the Termial Services Configuration applet. Audio mappings might be disabled.

Look at the setup screen for your wyse thin client, make sure audio is enabled. Then look at the properties of the ica or rdp connection you are using, make sure audio is enabled.

By the way, audio is a big bandwidth hog, you really shouldn't use it. I always disable it.

P.S. Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

Thanks for your info! Yes fat clients work within the Term Svr.... I just had the tought that the audio may be turned off on the clients (infact I was logging on to check when I read your posting - LOL). I will check, as the thin clients all use preset profiles.

I'll keep ya updated!
