Hi, I am having a problem getting the enableDCOM string to maintain it's setting. Currently when I log a user into one of our XP SP1 Pro boxes DCOM is not enabled. I need it enabled for some of our applications but I have tried using both DCOMCNFG.EXE and editing the registry string (ole) with the enableDCOM to Y and it stays only until the next time the user logs off. I have tried changing this both as the local client admin and the domain admin but the setting won't remain. Has anyone seen this behaviour before? I have checked for viruses and trojans with Norton (today's def files) and used ad-aware to check for any spyware as well but the systems are clean.

Any ideas?

This has recently started on our Win2K server. Again there are no viruses etc on this server (at least Sophos doesn't think so).
Has anyone any idea what is causing this?
