I have a existing filesystem, I wanted to know if there was a way to "Enable LARGE FILE" within this filesystem ? I went into smitty jfs , selected Change/Show JFS, then selected the filesystem and at the bottom there is a field labeled LARGE FILE ENABLE , this field is set to false, and the system wont let me change it to true. Is there a certain command that will let me change that ?

Cannot be done. Once a FS is created, max sizes are set forever.

Only way I see: make a backup, drop the filesystem, create a new "bf=yes" filesystem, restore the data.

A work around

Create a 2nd filesystem (Large enabled) put your file in there, then link to the other filesystem?
