Hi there,
does anybody have exp. using EMULEX LP8000 PCI Cards on a
Sun Fire V880R mashine?
We're running Legato Networker Server 6.1.1 on a Sun Fire V880R
Mashine, connected 12 * STK 9840 Drives via 4 EMULEX LP8000
Cards.
Configuration of the Server look's like this:

We're having two EMULEX LP8000 PCI Cards on
PCI BUS "B" (Slot 0 & 1)
and two additional on
PCI BUS "D" (Slot 4 & 6)
-BUS "A" is for internal Use only, has no Slot's and is
running at 3.3 V anyway. So no way.
-BUS "B" has 4 Slot's, but having all of them on one Bus is
not redundant. On the other hand, there is the internal
SCSI Controller also controlled by BUS "B" (don't know
if this is the Problem.)
-BUS "D" has only 3 Slot's, so what to do with the 4th card?
-mixtureof 64 Bit EMULEX Cards with 32 Bit Card (e.g.qfe)
is not recommendet by EMULEX (EMULEX Knowledge Base,
case 4254)

Problem Description:
After a while one or both cards on BUS "B" hang(s).
Card Reset by lputil sometimes works, sometimes causes a crash of the whole server.
Regarding Emulex Knowledge Base, "Solution 4254"
We're using the actual firmware and Unix driver. The server is based on Solaris 8 02/02.
Any clue?

Thx & Regards Spaceball
