emulating this piece of flash

Hi,

i've been using flash occasionally to develop simple wipes yet have recently been called onto creating a new piece of flash in which in my browsing i noticed the flash used here that i'd like to emulate by the bbc

would anybody be able to describe what exactly is going on and the sequences required to emulate the flash, or if you have any examples?

If you talking about the banner it looks to me the transition is done with ColorMatrixFilter (brightness) and the moving Sprite with BlendMode.ADD - something like that
