Hi,

Does anybody know a way to let Oracle treat an empty string as an empty string and not as a null value?
('' is null should be false.)
Is there a setting or parameter i can use for this?

For example in SQL server there is something like sp_dbcmptlevel.

Thanx in advance!

I think you can't. I use ' ' when I want an empty string.

I think that Kenrae is correct. Oracle strayed from ANSI when it
defined null as ''. It is trying to move away from that equivalence.
That's what I've been told, anyway. Jim
