Empty A System Mailbox? 2

I have a NAM with Voicemail 4.0.04A. Mailbox 100, the General Delivery mailbox, currently contains 736 messages - 124 minutes worth.

I need to empty this mailbox, but I haven't a clue as to how. It's a system mailbox, so I can't delete and re-add it. Any ideas?

As a side note, I don't know how these messages ended up here in the fist place, nor do I know how old the most recent one is. The oldest one was recorded in early March of 2001. I've listened to a few of them and they are directed to various employees, all of whom have their own mailbox. I also don't know whether or not the system was correctly configured when these messages arrived in the General Delivery mailbox.

The general delivery mailbox is the default mailbox if someone listens to greating but presses nothing or are using a rotary phone.If you do not want to delet and recreate mailbox, you manually have to delet each message. Good Luck!!

To delete each message just log in under the Feature 981 then press other or the * key you should then see log: you will then enter 100 + the password for this mailbox. If you dont want that mailbox to pick up just turn the mailbox off: To do this press Feature 983 log: 1020000 or 120000 this number depends on your extension numbers. then press press the number 6 and then press change. If you/your customer does not have anyone checking the general delevery mailbox on a regular basis then it may be a good idea to just disable it so people aren't leaving messages in a black hole. to turn it off it is feature 9 8 3 log on then option 6 and set it to no. JerryReeve

I'm sorry if you already are aware of this procedure. It's not a great answer. Too bad you can't delete the GD and add it again.
To quickly delete messages in a mailbox and this mailbox is a mailbox you can't(GD) or don't want to delete.

F981 to get to the mailbox
Select PLAY
Select #, gives you the erase choice.
Select erase

Continue thru the mailbox messages. darnold@americaii.com
