EMM error 1

As Windows 98SE starts to load on my pc I am getting the error "EMM386 not installed - unable to set base frame page address, press any key to continue"

When I press any key windows loads as normal and runs fine.

How can I get rid of the error.

Hi,

Can you post the contents of your C:\CONFIG.SYS and C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT files here - both will open in Notepad no problem. EMM386 is loaded from config.sys, but it may be used within autoexec.bat, which is why I need both.

You can DELETE this:
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE
Then save it.Then go to Start>Run-msconfig-
it opens the tab.Go to Config.sys-uncheck the HIMEM.SYS & EMM386.EXE.It`s all done.Click ok & RESTART.
