I have a customer whom wishes to use their existing Telephone P.A. network for Emergency Evacuation Notification.

They simply want to dial an extension to activate the sstem, and dial a code to shut it off. They want a pre-recorded message to play over the handsets and all paging zones until it gets shut off.

I have searched the net looking for a product like this however have come up empty handed.

Anyone here have any knowledge of a system as described?

Thanks in advance.

One way you could do this would require four pieces of equipment:
1. an answer relay that would trip when a ring is received on a line and stay tripped until disabled.
2. an auto-dialer that would activate by step 1 above
3. a pre-recorded message that is continuously playing or is started when relay 1 trips.
4. 2 ata's to provide dial tone and receive ring

check out the relays and controls on this page (about 1/2 down page:

Also keep in mind that depending on what KSU you are using and software level, you may have a paging timeout. I'm working on a MICS 5.0, and its paging time out is 2700 seconds - 45 minutes as a maximum. Not sure if that would be an issue in your case.
