I inherited this application and hope someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance

I have a toll free number that rings into my Nortel option 61c. It plays an menu where the caller can select op2 voice mail or op1 company (snow or other) emergency messages. I don't know the mailbox number to record an emergency message. How would I go about tracing that down.

BTW the menu is built on my Octel 250

The first thing to look for is in the PBX. Where is the toll free number pointed to? If it is sent to an ext that goes right to VM then the Mailbox number should be the number that is the same as the ext in the PBX.

If it is sent right to the pilot number of VM then you must be using port monitoring in menu 2-2 and it will show you the mailbox that is answering the call.

You can also use online CDR to track the mailbox that answers the call by using event 25 and then make a test call to see what mailbox it goes to.

If all else fails use the port monitor and log into your mailbox after calling the 800 number and see what port you are on. Then do an online CDR starting at that time and on that port only to trace the flow in the Octel.
