So I was reading today a little about a new product that EMC is launching called VPLEX. I only dabble in the storage space a little bit, but from the high-level reading it sounds more or less like IBM's SVCs. Am I right? Is there something significantly different between them?

Some minor differences on the way it treats the backend array, but yeah basically another yawn preannouncement from EMC.

Still waiting for FAST v2. Wasn't that supposed to be this month? EMC has been long on preannouncements and short on product the last few years. VPLEX is par for the course.
