We are planning to move EMC disks that are attached to an AIX server from the existing frame to new one. What are the steps that needs to take care to get this done? any ideas?
This box was configured with two HBA's and are zoned to all the disks for failover purpose.

Thanks

I've done quite a few of these. EMC has a variety of tools (which you need to pay quite a bit for) which will virtualize and/or migrate your data.

Personally, I'd suggest disabling some powerpath functionality and attaching one adapter to the new frame. Keep the actual powerpath devices, but remove all the LUNs associated with the adapter that you're going to move. You can then zone up the new devices (configure them in powerpath, but with only one LUN) and use migratepv to move all LVM data there. There is an element of risk involved in this, but it allows you to select different LUN sizes (if desired) and is fairly easy. If you are going to do this method, try it a few times on a test server first.
