I am having a hard time enabling the Write-Cache on my CX700. I think it may have something to do with the vault drives. The system is coming up clean, green lights all around, however when the Write-Cache is enabled, I get the dreaded:

"Enable write cache - Write Cache is not enabled due to any of these reasons:
1. There is no Standby Power Supply (SPS) present.
2. A Storage Processor (SP) is faulted.
3. There are multiple fan faults present.
4. A power supply is missing or faulted.
5. There is at least 1 faulted Link Controller Card (LCC) in the system."

All of my SPSs are functioning and accounted for, the fans are running nicely, the power supplies are good, the SPs are doing their thing, and the LCCs all are reporting as OK.

Doing a little more investigation, I found this in the error log:

Event Code: 0x7bd
"Write Cache Enable Pending. Vault LUN not enabled or not valid."

Has anyone encountered this problem, or have any ideas as to fixing it?

I believe that problems with the vault LUN require an EMC engineer to correct.
