Hi,

Two days back i ran into a critical issue that my EMC AX150 SC (4 hdd with RAID 5)is down. Here is the following events that have happened so far...

Observations:
1. SP Fault LED is blinking 1 blink/4sec, 1blink/sec, 4 blink/sec amber.
2. Not able to ping SP
3. Not able to see SP through service port (over rj45 to serial cable)
4. Front-side left rectangular LED is amber.
5. HDD LEDs are blinking blue occassionally - it is common.
6. Somehow, SP is not booting into FLARE OS.

Events:
1. Tried restarting the box - did not help
2. tried reseating SP, cache card, and memory - did not help
3. Got a replacement SP, Cache Card, and memory - did not help
4. Got Enter chasis replaced - same problem
5. Removed all the original HDD and put a new set of HDD to eliminate the issue with chasis, SP, cache, or memory card - everything came good.

6. Put the original hard drives into new chasis - did not help. - concluded that one of the vault drives might hvae gone bad.

7. Tried removing one single hdd at a time to see if the sp boots up. - did not help

8. NOW THE IMP STEP - as per the instruction from EMC tech support, removed hdd from slot 0, and place a brand new hdd (of same size) - SP BOOTED - ALL MY LUN Configuration has GONE!!!
Could not able to see my LUN configuration on the NAVISPHERE console.......

EMC tech support guys did lot of troubleshooting and now they are in no way able to recover the LUNs and underlying data.

I never had problem with this SAN box since we purchased it two years back! Cannot think of getting SP Collects as I thought it would only be helpful to diagnose a problem.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Regards,
Ajay
