Hi,

I currently have a report, which produces one figure each month i.e.

November 2693

It seems daft that this is emailed out to people who then have to open the document to view the figure.

Can you embed this in the email or can anybody think of a bettre way of doing this?

I am using CR10 and CE10

Thanks

I don't know how you would do this with CE, but I know there are 3rd-party tools (see list at: that address exactly this need.

My Visual CUT software allows you to drag & drop fields/formulas that were placed in the report header or footer (also in GH1 or GF1 if you are bursting the report) into various options. In your case, you would drag your formula(s) into the email message body. You can include in the message body a mixture of static and dynamic references to these fields/formulas and Visual CUT would take care of the "mail merge" process. You can also format the message as HTML to make it look more professional.

Alternatively, Visual CUT allows you to leave the message body blank and embed TEXT or HTML exports (again, whole or bursted) directly into the email message.

- Ido

view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

One way of doing this without any 3rd party tools is to take advantage of Alerts. Create a alert in your report that will trigger every time the report runs (eg whenever a field that always appears in the report is not null). Set the text of the alert to the output you require (in your example {Monthname} & ' ' & {Value})

Schedule the report to run monthly to the Default destination in CE, but with your Alert emailing to whomever needs to receive the report. Every time the report runs, the alert will trigger and send an email containing your output string.
