Hi,
I've learned that in order to have crisp text for the web that you need to write the code in HTML.
Is there a way to embed, in HTML, a non-stream font so that you're not stuck with the defaults if the browser doesn't support it?
Thanks
No, unless you have a font creator program (REMEMBER NOT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME FONT AS YOU), if you make your own font creat a link on your site for people to download your font, so they can see it the same way.
The best way is using photoshop, when you use html the font sizes are limited and not everyone has the same font you want to use, instead create an image with the text you want to write, UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARING TO WRITE A PARAGRAPH, do NOT create an image for a paragraph of text, it takes way too long to load. If your after just a plain slogan for a link, then use a picture, then every one can see the font you've choosen
Micro$oft makes a tool called WEFT (Web Embedding Font Tool). This lets you simply add some CSS code to your webpage along with a very little file and people will be able to view your page as if they had the font themselves. The only downside to this is that it's only supported by Internet Explorer but I think Netscape created their own tool to do the same thing for their browsers. There might even be a cross browser tool available now since I haven't looked into it for quite some time.
