Hi!
I've created a Flash 5 movie that displays dynamic text in a very non-standard font, which I though wouldn't be a problem because Flash is supposed to embed the font outlines for any font you use. (The help file and my book both say so!) However, the correct font only shows up on the PC I created it on. This suggests that flash is not embedding the font, but I placed some static text and that works fine on any PC. Is there something special you have to do with dynamic text?
P.S. I saw a previous thread to which oldnewbie quoted that the fonts are only embedded if you convert it to a graphic, but the static text is not converted, and that still works!

Maybe it's from the use of dynamic text then! My theory was that if it's a graphic, it's not text anymore, so the font whatever it is, is of no concern... It should work on any machine. If it's text, my understanding of this, is that it will only show up if you have that particular font installed on the machine. If not, it will default to something close to it!

Hey! I just solved it myself, so if anyone's out there with the same problem, here's the solution:
In the text options panel, where you select 'dynamic text', you should also click one of the buttons below the 'Embed fonts' caption. Duh!! In my case, I wanted numbers only, so I just clicked the 123 button, or you can type in the characters you need to embed.
