All, we have approx 9 HP4100's and 2 HP4550's. On two of the 4100's and one of the 4550's, the embedded web server is not working. All print fine, and I am able to telnet into all the printers. On the ones that the ews does not work, I telneted into them, and ran the command "ews-config 1" then enter, minus the quotation marks of course. This is supposed to enable the ews. However, it still does not work. This is happening with two 4100's and one 4550. I have not reset any of them to the factory defaults, this is of course, a last course of action. Anyone have any suggestions?

OK, some more info... on all of the "working" printers, typing in the ip address, brings up the default page. On the three that do not "work", if I enter the ip address, then /hp/jetdirect(for the 4550) and /hp/device/this.LCDispatcher (for the 4100), it pulls up the webpage. So the EWS is working, just not working properly. Any suggestions on how to get just entering the ip address to pull up the default page?

Ken

Please check up on the firmware versions of the JetDirect cards as these might need an update. By printing a configpage (including the JetDirect EIO page) of the printer you can try and compare the FW versions of the JetDirect cards.
