We havea client that has a few departmental VM's and would like to change them to a christmas message. I've told them that the best thing to do is before they leave is to get the department heads to dial the VM mailbox, setup a temporary greeting and schedule it to run for x number of days. But they've asked if it's possible to do the temporary greeting now but set it to activate itself on Friday, or even better for them, record a number of WAV files and upload them to each mailbox. As far as I'm aware the WAV file solutions is a definate NO, and I'm 99% sure that the delayed/scheduled start is a no too. The closest thing I think is possible, is to record the greeting now and just enable it on the day, but thats about it. The Mitel is an MXe with MCD 4.2.

How about recoding a RAD message(s) and then use call rerouting always Night2 on all users that want a xmas message
On xmas eve put the system into Night2 and then callers will hear the RAD message and then hangup.
The only issue is callers will not be able to leave a message.

Obviously if you had either a 6160IQ or Nupoint what they are requesting is entirely possible.

There's no IQ in place here, and the messages are unique for each department, but thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Sounds like a classic case of manageritis.

My time is much too valuable to be spent doing things the right way. Instead I would like you to spend 3 times as long figuring out a way where I don't have to do anything. Don't forget to spend an equal amount of time testing it. If you can do this in your spare time, so that it doesn't impact your regular work, that would be best. There, there, that's a good employee, now get to work and stop slacking!
