We're running 8.0.11.7 and I had a question about this feature:

A transfer-only mailbox can be linked to the same
extension as an existing extension-type mailbox. This
enables, for example, a single mailbox for a sales
department and the sales manager.

I setup a test extension vm box of 7501 , then setup a transfer-only mailbox of 7502 with its extension of 7501. When i dial 7502 i figured it would simply play the voicemail of extension 7501 , but it isnt working.

Am i missing something? I thought i could get a few voicemail boxes to transfer to one mailbox during night mode.

thanks

You will need to use a huntgroup or something similar with the ID 7502 and set the call forwarding always to the voicemail huntgroup so that the call is passed to the voicemail system with the ID of the transfer mailbox.

Thanks

Kenny

thanks..

Can you elaborate on what they mean by a transfer-only mailbox can be linked?

The method you want to use is to create a nametag huntgroup with the DN of *xxxx. For your example *7201.

The hunt group is routed immediately to Voicemail

The hunt group is also a Call Routing Always endpoint

Any extension sent to the Nametag group at night will answer with 7201's greeting.

Refer to this faq.
