We have upgraded a clients Index system with a 3300 Mxe with MCD 4 (latest build)
One of the features of the Index was that they had group mailbox, which people left a message on. The mailbox would then forward to three vm mailboxes as a new message.

I've been told this isn't possible with the Mitel, but I would be happy for someone to prove me wrong. At the moment we've had to forward to email to the people who want the message.

try creating a mwi key on each of the users phones for the mailbox in question.
When theres a mailbox they key will light and someone can retrieve.

is this a possible solution????

Kinda, we thought about doing it that way, but the customer asked if it could be done the old Index way.

The embedded VM on the 3300 is designed to be a very basic VM offering. There are other Mitel VM products that will do what you are wanting... $$$

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

The OLD way is not necessarily the better way.

Having one mailbox with each of the users having access is a much better solution. If the message is copied, then the users need to coordinate their efforts to find out who has done what or when. If the messages are only one place then whoever gets there first, deals with it as required.

kwbMitel: Agree with you comment. Funny how many times I run into someone who would rather duplicate a previous ( and sometimes poorer ) design then trying to sit down and take advantage of a new feature or way of doing things. Not that hard to move to your suggestion.

I agree with you both, we had already pushed kwbMitel's point about who had delt with the call etc. However the client still fails to see the point.

What about a Distribution List, I've got one programmed but can't work out how I leave a message for it. The Mitel help says that subscribers just dial the number of the group, but that doesn't work.

Distribution list are not automatic.

Users use the Make Message feature and enter the dist list instead of a mailbox #
