Just upgraded from an OEM version of 8.5 to a full version of 9 pro. There is one report another vendor prepared & provided to us that uses Active X objects to create the subreport details. It would seem that 9.0 is not recognizing these objects & thus details are no longer showing on this report.
I'm half thinking that this layout is no longer supported by version 9 or that I needed the Developer version vs PRO - but haven't been able to prove or disprove my theory esp. since the crystal 'release notes' are not particularly well written.
If an embedded subreports are no longer supported in Ver 9 is there a known work around or am I just missing the obvious on how to convert this report from ver 8.5 to 9.

Thanks in advance -

What makes you think that these Active-x objects are embedded within Crystal?

I would guess that there's a UFL (User Function Library) involved, or they used external code to generate all or part of the report.

Contact the vendor, they should have the immediate answer.

Unfortunately the person within the Vendor who created this report has left the company & didn't leave any documentation on how she created it. So they too are a bit stumped as to how she created the report.
My only assumption on the active X compontents is when I launch the report is shows loading active X components when opening and the intent of this report was/is to be accessed by many users to update parameter fields & generate the report - So my assumption could be wrong but since this is the only report that says using active X when launching & the only one I seem to be having problems with seemed slightly logical.
Any info on how to figure out if someone did use a UFL or external code would be greatly appreciated.

How is this report launched?

There is an Active-X Viewer for Crystal, which may be what you're seeing.

Or they may have embedded an OLE object.

Open the report and have a look around, and you might also export it to Report Definition File and look through tthat.
