I am working with an embedded system, so I don't know if anyone will be able to help. This system is currently running a RTOS with TCP/IP functionality. All of the applications are done through TCP and UDP. I was wondering if anyone knows of a piece of software I can use to stress test my embedded server. I am looking for anything that downloadable, please include URL.

Things that might work: TCP echo clients, UDP echo clients, or anything client-side that will stress test the server.

Most sniffer programs can generate packets and send them out.. or record the packets and replay it. Sun Solaris has a command called "Spray" which will target a IP with packets.. There are some programs to add a load on the wire.. solarwinds.net has one called "WAN killer" which works fairly well.
