embedded openoffice help needed

i am pretty new to the vb.net world and i am having trouble finding a way to embed openoffice writer into a project. i've tried a number of things including using the embedded openoffice .net control from

but haven't been able to get that to work either (it no longer errors, just nothing appears to happen). any help would be greatly appreciated!
