We have a Terminal Server (2003) with Office 2003 installed on it. I noticed something strange when embedding part of an Excel spreadsheet into a word document... that is, highlighting a small block of cells in a spreadsheet, going to Word, and clicking Edit > Paste Special > Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet Object. Let's say for arguments sake that everything is Arial 10pt.
The "paste special" works, but the way it is displayed (previewed?) is weird, in this way: If done by someone with a non-widescreen monitor (with screen resolution at 1024x768 let's say), the embedded object in Word looks as it does in Excel (Arial 10pt).
But, if the "paste special" is done by someone with a widescreen monitor / 1440x900 resolution, the object looks different... letters are a bit larger and crunched together more... close, but not quite like Arial 10pt. If you double-click the object to edit it, the font magically changes to Arial 10pt, but once you click out of the object, it is slightly off again.
I attached a screenshot of exactly how it looks... you can see, it's CLOSE, but not the same. I'm just curious why this is, and if there is anything that can be done? Since this will be done by my users more and more frequently, I would prefer Word to behave consistently regardless of screen resolutions.
By the way, when I went to print the sample that I attached from Word, both sections printed identically (as Arial 10pt, as expected).
