I am trying to create a text box that contains Spanish text in a letter. Is there any way I can embed special characters in this text like I can do in Word?

If you use the Insert Symbol tool from the main menu bar in Word, the dialog box that opens for you to select the characters includes the character code at the bottom of the window.
Example: the inverted question mark is character code 191.
=Chr(191)
