email's resend themselves after initial send.

Background:
I should first mention that this problem is intermitant at best - which is why i am having trouble fixing it. My users run Outlook 2000 and interface with a Windows 2000 SP2 Server paltform, running Exchange 5.5 SP3.

The Problem: X-)
Every so often one of my users will send an email to multiple recipiants with recipt reply turned on. All the recipts will be returned - no problem there. However about 3 to 5 days after the initial email was sent, another round of recipts come thru. It has been confirmed that the original email was sent again, the problem is by whom or what?? None of my users are sending the mail again. Is there some sort of store and forward function in Exchange?? I am unable to find where these emails are being generated from or why they are benig sent again - any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...

Could it be an Outlook rule?

How do you know the original was sent again?

Did the messages that were sent again have the same date and time as the first round?

Does the header say they were sent by the same person?

Yeah I have checked for Outlook Rules and none are present or configured

Yep the same send date and send time were present on all of the recipts, the only change was the recipts were from the same person only the delivered date and time on the return recipts had changed.

eg. "was delivered to the following recipiant(s):
Kate Palmer on Thu, 16 Aug 2001 03:10:22 +1000"

and later that day:
"was delivered to the following recipiant(s):
Kate Palmer on Thu, 16 Aug 2001 13:51:26 +1000"

Still the same original email, only it keeps redelivering itself at differnt times.
