I have a user using Outlook 2003-XP Pro-within a Exchange 2000 environment.

Under the "Mailbox-John Doe" tree, there are the necessary folders(Deleted Item, Drafts, Inbox, etc.).

There is another tree started with another Inbox folder. This Inbox is where the emails are going(not the inbox within the 'Mailbox-John Doe' tree).

How can I correct this?

move the folders to the proper Inbox and delete the bogus Inbox

Don't do that. That's completely incorrect.

You need to change where delivery of email is going.

I don't have any Outlook 2003/XP clients around me right now, but there is a setting under Accounts to dictate where delivery is going - mailbox or Personal Folders. Change it to the mailbox.

Once it's working correctly, copy the mail from the personal folders to the related folders in the mailbox, then right click on Personal Folders and choose CLOSE.
