I have a user who is running Outlook2003 SP3. She is having a problem opening emails that have attachments. When she clicks to open them it takes a long time for them to open. I checked the two she had in her inbox. Each attachment was only 24KB. One was an xccel spreadsheet and the other email contained a jpeg. I tried creating a new Outlook profile from scratch but the problem persists. I even checked and made sure she did not have Outlook Instant Messaging enabled. Has anyone run into this before and have an idea as to the cause and solution?

Email With Attachments Open Very Slow

Where is the email stored? Exchange? local .pst file? Outlook in cached mode?

The email is stored on a server. The environment is Exchange 2003. The user has an ost file. I have tried configuring her Outlook with no cache mode and have re-created the ost file by generating a new profile and deleting the old ost file. It's baffling.

When the user accessed via OWA everything was fine. I even created a profile for her on my computer. Email worked fine. What ended up solving the problem was that when I saw OWA work fine I knew it had to be something on the user's PC. I ran Office Detect and Repair and the entire issue was reolved. I thought the desktop tech would have done this up front but I guess not. Thanks for all your help.
