I am having a problem when forwarding email or sending email to external domains.

The error I am getting in Outlook is:

#5.5.0 smtp;503 This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non-local e-mail address. Please check your mail client settings or contact your administrator to verify that the domain or address is defined for this server.

I have an MX record in DNS for the ISP who handles our email, but it is enetered by IP rather local domain name since the LAN keeps resolving the domain to the local server instead of the internet host serving the website.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
