I have an EPO/7.1 environment, why is that during the onslaught of MyDoom some users machines quarantined emails yet others did not.

I seem to think its a difference between MS Outlook vs MsOutlook Express wherin Outlook users got emails quarantined but Express users did not.

Does anyone have an explanation?

MSOutlook is a MAPI-client, which VSE7.1 covers. OE is a POP3 client, which isn't covered. However, any virus-infected mails that you get in OE will be scanned once executed.

Thanks for the reply, I have configured Outlook to connect to a pop3 server for email (same as the OE clients). I thought that would mean that they are both pop3. Seems that Outlook can be POP3 & MAPI compliant at the same time?
