Dear All,
I have configured our Exchange system so that it works as a single organisation across 4 separate sites. In the standard configuration, everything works fine. However, I want to use the Smarthosts entry so that all our emails can be virus scanned/porn checked etc. The Smarthost entry I have is that of an external company.
Sending out external emails is fine.. however, the problem arises when i try and send an email to an 'internal' user based at another geographical location. The local email server will try to negotiate a connection to exchange.spain.company.com but this is an internal DNS addressing scheme. Therefore, when the email reaches the smarthosts, it finds that it doesn't understand what exchange.spain.company.com is and therefore no emails are delivered.
I think the solution is to do with SMTP connections but I don't know how to set it.. any ideas? Thanks
