Email Recipient gets Error 1706 when opening .snp Mail Attachment

I am sending a report in SnapshotFormat(*.snd) to a long list of email recipients (via Outlook). Many of the email recipients have responded saying they are unable to open the report; they get the following error: "Error 1706 no valid source could be found for MS Office 2000".

I searched Microsoft's site and couldn't find anything related to this file type, .snp, specifically.

Does anyone else know the cause, solution or workaround.

Most likely it is because they do not have the snapshot viewer loaded on their machines. This can be downloaded free of charge from any number of sites. The executable is usually called snapview.exe.

I will generally send a zip file with the reports to first time users incase snapshot viewer is not loaded.
