issue 1:

Every time I delete an email that I've sent to someone or an email in the drafts folder, An email receipt goes into my outbox and gets sent back to me stating that the recipient has read my email. How is this corrected?

issue 2:

Coming from Outlook Express, I'm wondering if there is a way to have email from all my accounts to be viewed in a single folder or must I view each email account in separate folders?

Good point.

Version 8, 2006

Just started using Act internet mail and am having the problem I've explained.

Thanks!

Personally, I prefer using the Outlook interface... and especially since ACT! 9, this is the best way to use ACT!

But you could even still use Outlook Express as your email client if you wanted.

Issue 1 - I've never seen this. Can you provide exact steps to replicate?

Issue 2 - I don't think this could be done with ACT! 8 and Internet Mail. Best to use Outlook connected to ACT! for items like this

Thanks again for your response.

Issue 1 seems to be a bug in ACT! As soon as I right click an email that I've sent to someone or an unsent email in the drafts folder and select "delete" I notice an email in the outbox. This outbox item is an email headed straight back to me stating that the recipient has read the email.

I would drop ACT! Internet mail and use Outlook instead but this is the issue I have with Outlook:

In order for Outlook to interact with ACT!'s history features, I had to set the email service option to corporate/workgroup. While email from all accounts come into my inbox using this setting, I cannot specify which account I'm sending outgoing email from. This is a problem for me as I handle several email accounts.

Please guide me as I am currently hopping back and forth both email clients.

Issue 1 - do you select a request receipt on read when sending?

Actually, using Corp/Wkgrp in Outlook 2002 (2003 only has CW, no Internet Only option), you can still create multiple accounts and select which to send from.

Re Outlook - yes, when using ACT!'s email client to Outlook, it only uses the default account in Outlook. Use the ACT! address book in Outlook and don't use ACT!'s email client at all... best of both worlds (even better with 9.0)

Yes, I request read receipts.

I'm using (an outdated?) outlook 2000 and have seen the difference in the sending options using workgroups or Internet Only. There is an arrow dropdown to select account near the "send" button that does not exist when using workgroups. My mail rules don't either work with workgroups.

Does Act! 2007 support viewing all email accounts in a single folder like Outlook?

I realized that I am able to specify which email account I am sending from in Outlook C/W mode but not using my few email accounts, rather by searching the full address book. An email message then reads "from" "sent from anyaddressbookemailaccount@xyz.com on behalf of defaultemailaccount@abc.com.

Would Outlook 2002 or later give me full control over which email account while in C/W mode? If not, will ACT! 2007 email history features work with Outook Internet Only mode?

Thanks again for your time.

ACT! 2007 supports using Outlook as the email client for ACT! - but only in C/W is fully supported in ACT!

Maybe time to upgrade to Outlook 2003?
