Email problems

I am using outlook express5, which works ok, except for one issue that I just noticed. When trying to use a web site email address to reply to , outlook will open to my inbox which is where it normally opens. The web site email address will not open the new mail window like it should.
Have done a lot of house cleaning in the system,and may have lost a file or driver in the proccess. Any ideas?

First, there is never a computer problem worth going bald over. ;-)

Just to make sure I understand your issue when you click on a Mailto: hyperlink is not opening a your OE program with a new message pre-addressed. That is a file association problem for your "URL:MailTo Protocol" file association.

Open explorer and go to Folder Options and then File Types. Look for URL:MailTo Protocol. Select the OPEN action and then click on the EDIT button.

The command line should read as:
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /mailurl:%1

More than likely you just have the command to open the mail program but are missing the switch command which is what does the rest of the action you want.
